Crescent Rolls Recipe
When you want fluffy, tender, flavorful dinner rolls that aren’t too hard to make, this is the recipe for you. Easy to make, and great for just about any occasion!
Ingredients :
- 1 package of yeast
- 1/4 cup of warm water
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/4 cup of sugar
- 1/3 cup of butter
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 egg
- 3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
Directions:
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a separate saucepan, heat the milk until it is just about to boil. Remove from heat and add the sugar, butter, and salt. Stir until the butter is melted, then let it cool to lukewarm.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast mixture, milk mixture, egg, and 2 cups of flour. Mix well until smooth.
- Gradually stir in the remaining flour until the dough comes together in a ball.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it in half. Roll each half into a circle and cut into 8 wedges.
- Roll each wedge up starting from the wide end to form a crescent shape. Place on a baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the crescent rolls for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
- Enjoy your freshly baked Crescent Rolls!
Tips:
- Make sure to let the yeast proof properly to ensure a good rise in the dough.
- You can brush the rolls with melted butter before and after baking for a delicious finish.
- These Crescent Rolls are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as a side for any meal.
