Perfect Soft Vanilla Dinner Rolls
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of bread flour
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 3/4 cup of warm milk
- 2 tablespoons of softened butter
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Directions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Add the egg, softened butter, salt, and vanilla extract to the mixture and stir well.
- Gradually mix in the bread flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Punch down the dough and divide it into small pieces to form dinner rolls.
- Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover them, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake the dinner rolls in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
Tips:
- Make sure the milk is not too hot or it will kill the yeast.
- Don’t skip the second rise as it helps to develop the flavor and texture of the rolls.
- Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter for a shiny finish.
