Homemade Fluffy Bread Rolls
Ingredients:
- 7 grams of dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 375 milliliters of warm water
- 500 grams of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
Directions:
- In a small bowl, mix the dry yeast with the sugar and warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix everything together until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C. Punch down the dough and divide it into equal-sized portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes. Brush the tops with some milk or egg wash.
- Bake the bread rolls in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
Tips:
- Make sure the water used for activating the yeast is not too hot as it can kill the yeast.
- You can customize the bread rolls by adding herbs, cheese, or seeds to the dough before shaping.
