Fluffy Homemade Burger Buns

Fluffy Homemade Burger Buns

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup warm milk (microwave for about 45 seconds)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Sesame seeds, for topping

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add the melted butter, beaten egg, flour, and salt. Mix in the yeast mixture until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  4. Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal parts. Shape each part into a ball and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the buns with some beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  6. Bake the buns for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let them cool before slicing and using for your favorite burgers.
    Tips:
  • Make sure the milk is warm but not hot to the touch to activate the yeast properly.
  • You can brush the buns with melted butter after baking for extra shine and flavor.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
