Easy 20-Minute Homemade Bread Dough
Ingredients :
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 packet of active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of warm water
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
Directions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
- Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the warm water and olive oil.
- Mix everything together until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- After the dough has rested, punch it down and shape it into a loaf.
- Place the loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let it rise for another 10 minutes.
- Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Tips:
- Make sure the water used is warm, but not too hot, as it can kill the yeast.
- You can brush the loaf with melted butter or olive oil before baking for a shiny crust.
- Feel free to customize your bread by adding herbs, cheese, or seeds to the dough.
