Ingredients :

  • 3 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet of active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the warm water and olive oil.
  3. Mix everything together until a dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  5. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  7. After the dough has rested, punch it down and shape it into a loaf.
  8. Place the loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let it rise for another 10 minutes.
  9. Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
    Tips:
  • Make sure the water used is warm, but not too hot, as it can kill the yeast.
  • You can brush the loaf with melted butter or olive oil before baking for a shiny crust.
  • Feel free to customize your bread by adding herbs, cheese, or seeds to the dough.
