Soft Vanilla Milk Bread
Ingredients
- 230 ml lukewarm milk
- 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 8 g dried yeast
- 1 egg
- 8 g vanilla sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
Directions:
- In a small bowl, combine the lukewarm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the dried yeast over the mixture and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk the egg, vanilla sugar, and salt together. Add the yeast mixture and stir to combine.
- Gradually mix in the flour until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place in a greased loaf pan, cover, and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool before slicing.
Tips:
- Make sure the milk is lukewarm, not hot, to avoid killing the yeast.
- You can brush the loaf with melted butter after baking for a shiny crust.
- Feel free to add in raisins or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
