Quick & Simple Donut Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 packet of instant yeast
- 1 cup of warm milk
- 1/4 cup of melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- Oil for frying
Directions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk with the granulated sugar and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add in the melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well.
- Gradually incorporate the flour into the wet ingredients until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness. Use a donut cutter or a glass to cut out donut shapes.
- Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (180°C).
- Carefully place the donuts in the hot oil and fry for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove the donuts from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Coat the warm donuts in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar or top them with your favorite frosting.

Tips:
- Make sure the milk is warm but not too hot to kill the yeast.
