Old-fashioned egg cream: a perfect dessert!

I propose this recipe to those who love originality, to those who still love the comfort given by an old-fashioned egg cream that drives children crazy; very easy and really tasty, it is prepared in no time and is really appetizing, ideal for your dinners or for your picnics.

To be prepared in a few simple steps for something tasty and very special.

Ingredients:

For the flan:
6 eggs
750 ml of milk (semi-skimmed)
1 vanilla pod or vanilla powder
70 g of granulated sugar

For the caramel:
2 tablespoons of water
25 sugar cubes
1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Preparation:

How to prepare this old-fashioned egg flan?
First of all, preheat the oven to 185°C thermostat 6 (possibly with a fan). Prepare the caramel by bringing the sugar cubes, water and lemon juice to the boil in a saucepan. Leave to boil for a few minutes so that the caramel takes on a nice brown colour. Then, as it hardens very quickly, pour the caramel into the bottom of the mold.

In another saucepan, pour the milk, granulated sugar and vanilla and bring to the boil. Meanwhile, crack the whole eggs into a bowl and beat them vigorously.

3Once the milk has reached a boil, whisk in the beaten eggs and remove from the heat.

Pour into molds lined with caramel and put in a bain-marie for 35 minutes (always at 185°C). The water shouldn’t boil, just simmer (lower the temperature a bit if necessary).

Finally, let it cool, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Your old-fashioned egg custard is ready!
