Ingredients:
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 egg
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and a tablespoon of honey. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, the rest of the honey, and egg to the mixture. Stir in flour and salt until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into rolls. Place them on a baking sheet, cover, and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the buns for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush the warm buns with melted butter before serving.
Tips:
- Make sure your milk is warm but not hot to activate the yeast properly.
- You can brush the buns with additional honey butter after baking for extra sweetness.
- These buns are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
