Homestyle Copycat Texas Roadhouse Rolls
Recipe:
Ingredients:
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/4 cups warm milk
1 egg
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon salt
Directions:
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and a pinch of sugar in the warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, remaining sugar, and salt.
Add the yeast mixture, egg, and melted butter to the dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/2-inch thickness. Cut into squares and arrange them on a greased baking sheet.
Cover the rolls loosely with a cloth and let them rise again for 30 to 40 minutes until puffy.
Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake the rolls for 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown.
Brush them with melted butter as soon as they come out of the oven for a soft, shiny finish.
