Garlic and Mozzarella Bread Recipe a Delight

You probably know someone who doesn’t like bread, but after reading this recipe, they will change their mind. Here is a delicious recipe for garlic bread and Mozzarella. This bread recipe brings back memories in the countryside but this alternative is much softer. With garlic and cheese, the taste is all the more sparkling. You can eat it as an accompaniment to your meat or to a dish made from duck, veal but also smoked salmon.

Ingredients :

For the bread
2 cups wholemeal flour
1 ½ teaspoon sourdough
1 teaspoon of fructose
½ cup warm almond milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon of melted vegetable butter or a teaspoon of olive oil
250 g mozzarella cheese or another cheese of your choice such as Gruyère, fresh goat cheese, feta or fresh cheese
A little whole wheat flour for kneading
A pinch of salt
For the garlic butter
2 teaspoons softened vegetable butter or 2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon minced garlic
2 tablespoons green onions cut into small pieces
½ teaspoon of salt
A sharp knife for scoring bread dough
A little black pepper
An egg yolk to brush the edges of the bread

Preparation :

In a large bowl, pour the flour, sourdough, sugar, beaten egg, melted butter, almond milk and salt. Mix everything with a wooden spatula. On a flat surface, sprinkle a little flour and place the dough on it to knead it.
Put flour on your hands if necessary so that the dough does not stick. Form a round ball, then cover it with a clean towel. Let stand 1 to 2 hours.
Cut the mozzarella into slices, then start preparing the garlic butter. To do this, you need to put the softened butter in a bowl, then chop the green onion and the clove of garlic, which you need to add to the butter. Add salt and pepper and mix everything together.
Once the dough is well risen, flatten it with the palm of your hand on a floured surface. Slice the bread with a knife into 1 cm strips without cutting the base. Turn the bread and slice in the same way to obtain a grid. Using a brush, brush the dough with the egg yolk.
Spread the garlic butter mixture over the entire surface of the bread using a spoon. Then slide the thin slices of mozzarella into the interstices.
Place the bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place in the oven and cook for 25 to 30 minutes. After baking, put the bread in a serving dish and let cool before enjoying it. Know that it can even be eaten by hand or served as an aperitif in small plates to accompany aubergines, grilled courgettes, peppers, fresh tomatoes or cherry tomatoes, courgettes, tuna, salmon, prawns or spinach. It can also be served with tomato sauce for those who like spicy and sour dishes.
It is possible to vary the taste of the bread according to the choice. You can add thyme, chives, coriander, rosemary, oregano or herbs de Provence.
To store it, this bread can be put in the refrigerator for 3 days or even frozen for longer storage.
