Ingredients:

  • 4 large eggs, separated
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of cornstarch
  • 1 cup of plain yogurt

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks with sugar until pale and creamy.
  3. Mix in the cornstarch and yogurt until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture until just incorporated.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • Make sure to beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form for a light and fluffy texture.
  • You can top the cake with fresh berries or a dusting of powdered sugar for an extra touch.
