Easter Cookies
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring
- Sprinkles
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into separate bowls and add food coloring to each bowl to create different colors.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface and use cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
- Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet, decorate with sprinkles, and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips:
- To prevent the dough from sticking to the cookie cutters, dip them in flour before cutting out shapes.
- Get creative with different shapes and colors to make your Easter cookies unique and festive.
