Delicious Bread For Breakfast
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (200 ml) warm water
- 1 tablespoon (10 grams) yeast
- 4 teaspoons sugar
- 1/3 cup (60 ml) vegetable oil
- 1 cup (200 ml) warm milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 5 cups (600 grams) flour + additional 30-50 grams for working with the dough
- 100 grams butter
Directions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add vegetable oil, warm milk, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir well to combine.
- Gradually mix in the flour until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Melt the butter and brush it over the top of the dough.
- Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Tips:
- Make sure the water and milk are at the right temperature to activate the yeast.
- You can add herbs, cheese, or seeds to the dough for extra flavor.
- Brushing the bread with butter before baking gives it a beautiful golden crust.
