Croissants Recipe
Ingredients:
- 600g all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 100g granulated sugar
- 1 packet of dry yeast
- 250ml warm water
- 200g unsalted beef butter , cold
Directions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and sugar. Make a well in the center and add the dry yeast. Pour in the warm water and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic. Shape it into a ball and place it in a clean bowl. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough into a large rectangle. Place the cold butter in the center and fold the dough over it. Roll out the dough again and fold it into thirds. Repeat this process 3 more times, then cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the dough and cut it into triangles. Roll each triangle from the base to the tip to form a croissant shape. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Let the croissants rise for another 30 minutes, then bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Enjoy your homemade croissants warm from the oven!
Tips:
- Make sure the butter is cold when incorporating it into the dough to create flaky layers.
- You can add chocolate or almond paste before rolling the croissants for a delicious twist.
- Serve with your favorite jam or spread for a delightful breakfast treat.
