Apple pie with soufflé cream melts in your mouth! Simple and very tasty!
Ingredients:
For the Dough (20 cm diameter):
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3-4 tbsp ice water
For the Apple Filling: - 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
For the Soufflé Cream: - 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
- In a food processor, mix flour, butter, sugar, and salt until it resembles bread crumbs. Add ice water gradually until the dough comes together. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough and place it in a pie dish. Trim the edges and crimp with a fork.
- In a bowl, mix apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour. Pour into the dough-lined pie dish.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- For the soufflé cream, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Serve slices of apple pie with a dollop of soufflé cream on top.
Tips:
- You can sprinkle some extra cinnamon or powdered sugar on top of the pie for added flavor.
- Serve the pie warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious dessert.
