Easter Dirt Cake Casserole
Ingredients:
- 1 package of beef gelatin
- 1/2 cup of beef broth
- 2 cups of crushed chocolate cookies
- 1/2 cup of melted butter
- 1 package of cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 container of whipped topping
- Assorted Easter candy for decoration
Directions:
- In a small saucepan, sprinkle the beef gelatin over the beef broth and let it sit for a few minutes to bloom. Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring until the gelatin is fully dissolved. Set aside to cool slightly.
- In a medium bowl, combine the crushed chocolate cookies and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch casserole dish to form the base layer.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping until well combined.
- Gradually pour the cooled gelatin mixture into the cream cheese mixture, stirring gently to incorporate.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cookie crust in the casserole dish, spreading it out evenly.
- Refrigerate the casserole for at least 4 hours, or until set.
- Before serving, decorate the top of the casserole with assorted Easter candy such as chocolate eggs, jelly beans, or edible grass.
