Mint, once you have it in your garden, it grows and grows and you don’t know what to do with it. Tired of mint infusions? Here is a recipe to turn your mint into delicious syrup. I offer you the recipe for mint syrup to make at home.
Ingredients :
300 fresh mint leaves (or 15 to 20 mint stems)
600 g of sugar
60 cl of water
Food coloring, if you want to have a green syrup
Abstain from the coloring to have a 100% natural syrup. But don’t be surprised if the color of your syrup will be closer to brown than green.
Instructions :
First, hull and wash the leaves in cold water. Next, put the mint, water and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Once the mixture boils, cook for about 10 minutes, on very low (minimum). When the mixture becomes smooth and syrupy, remove your pan from the heat and let cool. In order to have a green syrup, it is time to pour in the food coloring.
Finally, when the mixture is very cold, filter it with a strainer by pouring it directly into a bottle.
