Stuffed Cabbage Roll Casserole

Stuffed Cabbage Roll Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of ground beef
  • 3 ½ pounds of chopped cabbage
  • 1 can (29 ounces) of tomato sauce
  • 1 cup of chopped onion
  • 1 cup of uncooked white rice
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 cans (14 ounces each) of beef broth

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare all your ingredients.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until it is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until it is soft and translucent.
  4. Stir in the uncooked white rice, salt, and one can of tomato sauce. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. In a separate pot, boil the beef broth. Once it is boiling, pour it over the cabbage in a large bowl. Let it sit for a few minutes to soften the cabbage.
  6. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the cabbage on the bottom. Spoon half of the ground beef mixture on top of the cabbage. Repeat with another layer of cabbage and the remaining ground beef mixture.
  7. Pour the remaining can of tomato sauce over the top of the casserole.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Stuffed Cabbage Roll Casserole!
    Tips:
  • You can add some grated cheese on top of the casserole before baking for extra flavor.
  • Feel free to add in some chopped vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for added nutrition.
  • Make sure to let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
