Soft and Buttery Homemade Dinner Rolls

Soft and Buttery Homemade Dinner Rolls

Ingredients You’ll Need
4 cups all purpose flour (plus more for dusting)
2 teaspoons yeast (instant or active dry)
3 tablespoons sugar
1 1/4 cups warm water or milk (around 110°F/43°C)
1/4 cup oil (vegetable or sunflower oil)
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
For Brushing
1 egg white + 2 tablespoons water (for egg wash)
2 tablespoons melted butter (for post baking brushing)

Step by Step Directions
1: Activate the Yeast
In a large mixing bowl, combine yeast and sugar.
Pour in the warm water or milk and let it sit for about 5-7 minutes until foamy.
2: Add Wet Ingredients
Mix in the oil, eggs, and salt.
Whisk gently until everything is well incorporated.
3: Incorporate the Flour
Add flour gradually, 1 cup at a time, mixing after each addition.
Once a soft dough forms, knead on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4: First Rise
Place dough in a greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap or a clean towel.
Let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
5: Shape the Rolls
Divide the dough into 24 equal pieces.
Roll each into a smooth ball and place them in a greased baking pan, slightly spaced apart.
6: Second Rise
Cover the pan and let the rolls rise for another 30-40 minutes.
7: Bake and Finish
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
Brush the tops with egg wash for a shiny, golden finish.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from oven and immediately brush with melted butter for that soft, buttery sheen.
