Easy to Make Salted Butter Caramel
Ah the salted butter caramel… quite a story! It covers our cakes marvelously, it sublimates our desserts, it marries with our ganaches in short we love it.
Ingredients :
200 g of sugar
20 cl of liquid cream
100 g of semi-salted butter or 100 g of soft butter + 2 good pinches of salt
1 tablespoon of heavy cream
Preparation :
Put the 200 g of sugar in a saucepan and let it melt completely over a very low heat. This will take a long time but you must be patient.
During this time heat your cream, once the sugar is completely melted and you get a caramel color remove the pan from the heat and add the hot cream.
Be careful, there may be some splashes! Stir everything well then put back on the heat for a few minutes, turn off.
Now add your soft butter pieces while stirring.
Finish with your heavy cream put the preparation in a glass jar let it cool at room temperature then keep it in the fridge.
