Rice Krispie Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients :
- 1 cup (2 sticks) of unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup of packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 cup of chocolate chips
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the Rice Krispies cereal and chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
- Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each cookie.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips:
- For an extra chocolatey boost, you can use chocolate chunks instead of chocolate chips.
- Make sure your butter is softened to room temperature for easier mixing.
- Feel free to add in chopped nuts or dried fruit for added texture and flavor.
