Matcha Condensed Milk Pound Cake
A vibrant green tea cake sweetened with condensed milk trendy for St. Patrick’s Day (March 17 prep content).
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp matcha powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup condensed milk
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and condensed milk until smooth.
- Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips:
- For a stronger matcha flavor, you can increase the amount of matcha powder used.
- Serve slices of the pound cake with a dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of powdered sugar on top.
