Condensed Milk Biscuits
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Additional sugar for sprinkling (optional)
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. This will ensure the dry ingredients are well combined.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth and creamy using a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the sweetened condensed milk to the butter, mixing until fully incorporated and the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Stir in the vanilla extract to enhance the sweet aroma and taste.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently with a spatula until a dough forms.
- Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, ensuring each cookie is evenly spaced. Press each cookie slightly with the back of a spoon to flatten them gently.
- If desired, sprinkle the tops of each cookie with a pinch of additional sugar for an extra crispy texture.
- Bake the cookies in the oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges begin to turn a light golden brown.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips:
- For a richer flavor, consider adding a pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon to the dough.
- To keep cookies fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
- If the dough feels too sticky, chill it in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes before baking.
