CINNAMON ROLLS
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 cup of warm milk
- 1/3 cup of unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons of instant dry yeast
- 1/4 cup of melted butter
- 3 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons of ground cinnamon
Directions:
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and granulated sugar. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, warm milk, melted butter, and yeast until smooth.
- Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, then place it in a greased bowl and cover with a clean towel. Allow the dough to rise for 1-2 hours.
- Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.
- Spread the melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon on top.
- Roll the dough tightly from one end to the other, then slice it into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the cinnamon rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and bake the cinnamon rolls for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Tips:
- To make the cinnamon rolls extra gooey, drizzle with icing made from powdered sugar and milk.
- Feel free to add chopped nuts or raisins to the filling for extra flavor and texture.
- These cinnamon rolls are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
