Homemade Delicious Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
- 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- For frosting:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Add eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Stir in boiling water to the batter until smooth.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it begins to simmer.
- Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips until smooth and shiny.
- Let the frosting cool for 15 minutes before spreading it over the cooled cakes.
- Decorate with sprinkles, if desired, and enjoy!
Tips:
- Make sure all your ingredients are at room temperature before starting the cake batter.
- Sift the cocoa powder to avoid lumps in the batter.
- Do not overmix the batter once the wet and dry ingredients are combined.
- For a richer flavor, substitute some of the boiling water with hot coffee.
