Homemade Meat Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 lb minced beef
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 bunch of fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Pickled cucumber, for serving
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • White yogurt, for serving

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F).
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
  3. Add the minced beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and dried basil.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped parsley, hard-boiled eggs, and shredded cheese.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and place the meat mixture in the center. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling to create a pie shape.
  6. Brush the top of the pastry with the egg yolk for a golden finish.
  7. Bake the meat pie in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
  8. Serve the homemade meat pie with pickled cucumber, minced garlic, and a dollop of white yogurt on the side.
