Homemade Meat Pie
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 lb minced beef
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- 1 bunch of fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
- 1 egg yolk
- Pickled cucumber, for serving
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- White yogurt, for serving
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F).
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
- Add the minced beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and dried basil.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped parsley, hard-boiled eggs, and shredded cheese.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet and place the meat mixture in the center. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling to create a pie shape.
- Brush the top of the pastry with the egg yolk for a golden finish.
- Bake the meat pie in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
- Serve the homemade meat pie with pickled cucumber, minced garlic, and a dollop of white yogurt on the side.
Tips:
- You can customize the filling of the meat pie by adding your favorite vegetables or spices.
- Make sure the puff pastry is fully thawed before using it in the recipe.
