Sweet Dinner Rolls are a traditional yeast roll with a fluffy and light texture. Made with bread flour, eggs, milk, and butter, this bread recipe is a buttery, tender sweet roll that is perfect for holiday meals. These dinner rolls also make great buns similar to the Hawaiin Sweet Rolls and make great slider rolls.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, honey, and eggs. Mix well.
  2. Add in the flour, salt, and active dry yeast. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into small balls. Place the balls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise again for another 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown.
  8. Brush the warm rolls with melted butter before serving.
    Tips
  • Make sure the milk is warm, but not too hot, to activate the yeast properly.
  • You can customize these dinner rolls by adding herbs or cheese to the dough for extra flavor.
