Rich Butter Cake Recipe
This fail-proof butter cake recipe is so yummy and easy to make. Butter cake is best consumed a day after, and you will love this.
Ingredients:
- 250 grams/ 8.8Oz (1 cup + 2 tbsp) butter
- 200 grams/ 7Oz (1 cup) castor sugar
- 6 medium-sized eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 tbsp milk powder
- 5 tbsp full cream milk
- 280 g/ 9.9Oz (2 cups) self-raising flour (sifted) or 280g plain flour + 1 tablespoon baking powder (sift together)
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla essence.
- Mix in the milk powder and full cream milk until well combined.
- Gradually fold in the sifted flour until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tips:
- For added richness, you can serve this butter cake with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- To enhance the flavor, you can sprinkle some powdered sugar on top before serving.
