20-Minute Homemade Bread
- Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon dried herbs (optional, like rosemary or thyme)
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Mix well.
- Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the warm water and olive oil.
- Stir until the dough begins to come together, then knead gently in the bowl for about 1-2 minutes.
- If using, fold in the dried herbs for added flavor.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and shape it into a round loaf.
- Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
